Over the last 17 years Ann has enjoyed providing patient centered osteopathic care to people and families from all over the world, from top athletes to those who enjoy a more sedentary lifestyle, from the very young to the very old.
Ann's aim is to facilitate the patients innate healing capacity, by providing an individualized treatment plan and tailoring a specific treatment approach to the person dependent on their unique context be it in an acute injury or a chronic condition.
Ann uses a wide range of osteopathic techniques during the treatment process, most of the time the techniques used differ from each appointment depending on the individuals progress.
Ann includes when appropriate exercises, nutritional advice and other educational material to help recovery and rehabilitation with the future of the patient in mind.
Ann knows when to refer patients for further investigations such as ultrasound, x-ray, orthopedic surgeons, or to other treatment modalities such as massage, acupuncture or other osteopathic practitioners when it will benefit the patients journey and recovery.
Since finishing her Masters of Osteopathy, Ann has continued to widen her horizon and knowledge base by engaging in numerous osteopathic post-graduate education courses, yoga teacher training, low back rehabilitation based on science, and trauma informed care, to further her osteopathic practice.
She has also participated in courses such as but not limited to: apiculture, nutrition, pottery, how to design a forest garden, Zen meditation, scuba diving, kayaking, map reading and fly fishing each of those providing a unique point of view.
Ann's Norwegian heritage impel her to seek the tranquility of the sea and the mountains where she finds inner peace and stillness during activities such as tramping, skiing, kayaking, and biking.
Ann believes that life is a continual dynamic process where education and movement is fundamental, this is also evident in her osteopathic practice.
