• Liz Stroud - Osteopath BSc (Hons) Ost

    Liz Stroud graduated in 2003 from Oxford Brookes University, Oxford with a BSc Degree in Osteopathy.

    Arriving in Nelson in 2006 Liz soon built a busy practice.

    With a fascination for understanding the whole picture, Liz looks for the predisposing or maintaining factors that may be inhibiting form and function in the body of the individual.

    Liz draws from and combines a wide range of gentle hands on osteopathic tools from massage, mobilisation, balance ligament tension techniques to cranial osteopathy. This aims at optimising body mechanics and improving health with little or no joint manipulation. Choosing the right tool at the right time for the right person is what adds colour to her day and Liz enjoys treating all ages from new born to the elderly.

    As a Pilates instructor Liz likes to prescribe the appropriate stretches and strengthening exercises to help educate and maintain a healthy body.

    Liz is an active mother of two gorgeous daughters and enjoys Pilates, tramping, running, MTB, multisport and adventure racing, art, crafts, building, renovating, gardening and is looking forward to meeting you.

  • Donna Cornelius Osteopath Bsc Dip Osteopathy

    Donna recently moved from Christchurch to Nelson to enjoy the lifestyle and balance that Nelson and its surroundings offer.

    With over 20 years experience working as a Naturopath, studying osteopathy was a natural progression in her learning journey.

    Donna enjoys listening to the whole story, understanding the big picture and barriers to your health and wellness. Then combining the right osteopathic techniques (structural, manipulation, massage, mobilisation and cranial osteopathy) alongside exercise prescription, nutrition and lifestyle advice.

    Donna finds osteopathy incredibly rewarding, “Osteopathy isn’t just backs & necks, osteopathy naturally facilitates the natural healing process by improving the function and mobility of the whole body.”. Donna enjoys treating patients of all ages, helping patients return to doing the things they love, be it in the garden, golf, or high-end sports.

    In Donna’s spare time she can be found on the water mastering her paddle boarding, MTBing, adventure racing, being creative making soaps, lotions & potions or cosied up with a good book.

  • Rik Friend Osteopath BSc (Hons) Ost

    Rik graduated from The British school of Osteopathy, London, in 1999 with a BSc. Hons degree in Osteopathy.

    After working in the UK he moved to Nelson in 2006 and has worked in Nelson, Wellington and Australia.

    Having over 20 years of Osteopathic experience, and continually learning and growing within the profession he is excited to bring this to help in the best way for each individual.

    Rik employs many techniques and modalities into his Osteopathic approach, including soft tissue massage and joint articulation, manipulation, gentle indirect techniques and other Osteopathic approaches, he understands that no two situations are the same, and tailors the approach as required.

    Helping someone overcome an injury, cope better with degenerative processes, through pregnancy and beyond, strains, stiffness or simply helping the relationship of structure and function in the body to maintain an active life, Rik enjoys the variety and challenges that Osteopathic practice provides.

    He has lectured in higher education in Health Sciences. Being passionate about the importance of education, he strives to help patients understand the underlying dysfunctions and the process of the Osteopathic treatment - 'the what and why and how to resolve it’ approach. Taking this approach, he often advises personalised specific exercises and advice.

    Outside of Osteopathy Rik enjoys mountain biking, the sea and all the amazing natural beauty around Nelson, and good food!

  • Kim Pullan - Acupuncturist

    I’ve been a practicing Acupuncturist since 2020 after completing a Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture). After undergoing a career change following my own health issues.

    My life experience includes raising 3 (now grown up) sons, alongside working in both early childhood education and elderly care. I have loved working in Acupuncture clinics, both in Wellington and in Nelson, getting to know people and helping them on their healing journeys. From sore/damaged shoulders, knees, backs and other musculoskeletal issues to menopause, depression, anxiety, cancer recovery, just to name a few!

    As part of my practice and philosophy, I strive to both educate and promote healing in my clients, empowering them to live more easeful and healthier lives.

    My approach is working with Acupuncture, Tuina (massage), Moxabustion and Cupping. Using both traditional Chinese and Japanese methods.
